Photographs led to more than $1,000 in hunting fines for a Fort Frances man.
A Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officer saw the man last October with a freshly killed deer near his Shenston Township home.

When asked why the deer had no game seal attached, required by law, the man said he couldn’t attach the seal because he was allergic to deer hide.

But when the conservation officer inspected the man’s camera, three photographs showed the man posing with the deer’s head and antlers.

The deer and game seal, along with guns, were seized.

The firearms will be returned once the man pays his $1,200 fine, which he received in court on March 11 for not immediately attaching a game seal to a harvested animal.
