THUNDER BAY -- A home on the Pic Mobert First Nation was destroyed by fire Thursday. But everyone did escape the blaze safely.
The fire broke out at around noon. The two homeowners managed to get out before the fire got out of control.
Fire crews from the town of White River, located about 30 kilometres away, came to help battle the blaze.
Pic Mobert does not have its own volunteer fire crew, but some community members used the reserve's fire truck to try to combat the flames.
The cause has not been released, but an officer from the Anishnawbek Police Service says the fire was not suspicious in nature.
