Police ask for tips regarding weapons incident

At least one individual is believed to have reported hearing gunshots.

THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Police continue to investigate what they are only describing as a reported "weapons incident" Sunday at a South May Street location.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block around 2 p.m. 

Police aren't providing specifics, but at least one individual is believed to have reported hearing gunshots in the vicinity.

Members of the public were initially asked to avoid the area while the initial investigation was underway.

In a brief update Monday afternoon, TBPS said the investigation was ongoing, and that further details may be provided later.

A smaller police presence remained in the vicinity.
