Police assist man who suffered serious injuries following accident

A man was rushed to hospital after being injured by glass at his home on McIntosh Street

THUNDER BAY - Police responded to a medical emergency in the city’s east end after receiving reports of a man in need of help early Sunday evening.

Thunder Bay Police Service said in a media release issued on Monday that officers were called to the 600 block of McIntosh Street just before 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a large amount of glass and what appeared to be blood in the back yard. With little information, officers entered the residence and located a man with serious injuries.

The man was transported to hospital by ambulance with assistance from police after receiving first aid by responding officers.

Police said the man was accidently cut by glass at the residence and the call was determined to be a medical emergency.
