THUNDER BAY – Uniformed city police officers are voting again on whether to adopt a major change in their shift schedule.
Contract negotiations continue between the Police Association and the Thunder Bay Police Service Board, with 12-hour shifts back on the table.
In 2008, the municipal police force and its union negotiated a move from 8-hour to 10-hour shifts.
But a potential move to 12-hour shifts was rejected by the majority of officers in July.
Sources say some of the terms of the new contract have been adjusted, and officers are voting again on the shift change proposal.
Vote results are expected by the end of this week.
