UPDATE: One arrested, police search for more robbery suspects

THUNDER BAY -- Ontario Provincial Police have blockaded a section of Oliver Road to search for suspects who fled following a traffic stop in conjunction with a Lakeshore Drive robbery early Wednesday morning. 

In a release issued by OPP, offers responded at about 2:43 a.m. to a report of a dark-coloured sedan leaving the Shuniah residence. Police used a spike belt to stop the vehicle on Oliver road. One man was arrested on scene and several others took off. 

Police say officers from the OPP emergency response team, the canine unit and the Thunder Bay Police service have joined the hunt, which has involved the use of an aerial drone. 

As a precaution, police have blocked off Oliver Road between Gratton Road and Twin City Crossroads.
