THUNDER BAY – A collision between a pedestrian and city bus will not result in any charges being laid.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers say the incident took place at about 4:30 p.m. at the Water Street bus terminal.

Police say an investigation determined a woman pedestrian ran after the bus and attempted to have it stopped as it began pulling away from the bus terminal.

The woman fell as she was banging on the side of the bus and subsequently came into contact with the moving vehicle.

Police say the 31-year-old woman was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where she was treated for minor injuries.

Neither the woman nor the driver of the bus are being charged, and police say the investigation is over.

Police are using this opportunity to remind the public to refrain from attempting to stop a moving bus. Making any kind of contact with a moving bus is very dangerous.
