Police seized nearly 300 grams of pot during a RIDE checkpoint in Vermillion Bay Friday.
Officials with the Dryden detachment of the OPP say officers conducting the RIDE program spotted a black pickup truck attempting to avoid the police checkpoint.
Police were able to stop the truck at nearby Spruce Avenue.
Police say they found 286 grams of marijuana on the driver.
The 22-year-old male driver was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.
Police say they estimate the street value of the drugs seized to be about $5,300.
The suspect is expected to appear in a Dryden courtroom to answer the charges against him.
