THUNDER BAY -- Police continue to investigate a pair of drug overdoses over the weekend that left two men in hospital in serious condition.
Thunder Bay Police Service executive officer Chris Adams said they do not have an update on the condition of the two victims and samples of suspicious substance have been sent to Winnipeg for testing.
The first incident happened Saturday afternoon at a North-side motel where a 25-year-old man was found unconscious. The second overdose involved a 27-year old man, located at the corner of May Street and Cameron Street. A suspicious powder was later found in the man's possession and was tested at the Thunder Bay Police Service station.
The chemical reaction sent one officer to hospital as a precaution after he reported having breathing problems. Police say they're concerned about the safety of illicit narcotics in the city.
