THUNDER BAY — City police are continuing to investigate a shooting incident that sent a man to hospital with serious injuries.
Thunder Bay police responded to the reported shooting just after 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block area of Cumming Street on the city's south side.
A male victim was found and taken to hospital for treatment of injuries that are considered serious but not considered to be life-threatening, police said in a Thursday morning update.
A significant police presence that had been in the area has been reduced, as officers continue to hold two scenes in the Cumming Street area as the investigation focuses on specific areas of interest.
Police did not provide any further information about whether any potential suspects have been arrested or are in custody.
Anyone with home, business or dash camera footage in the Cumming Street area between May and McKenzie streets that may assist with the investigation is asked to contact police. As well, anyone with information that could be relevant who has yet to make a statement is asked to contact the police service's non-emergency line.
