Police identify man found in Lake of the Woods

OPP say no foul play is suspected at this time after the body of a 46-year-old Lac La Croix man was found in Lake of the Woods on Sunday.

KENORA, Ont. - The body of a man found in Lake of the Woods on the weekend has been identified and police say foul play is not suspected at this time.

In an Ontario Provincial Police media release, police said the man has been identified as 46-year-old Darren Lee Ottertail of Lac La Croix, Ont.

Police were called to the Main Street dock in Kenora early Sunday afternoon after receiving reports of a possible body in the water.

The deceased body of a man was discovered and a post-mortem examination was conducted in Kenora on Oct. 10, 2017.

While police said they do not suspect foul play at this time, they are still asking anyone with any information about the incident to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
