Police identify three victims of weekend highway crash

Police have released the names of the three people who died after a head-on crash on an area Highway earlier the past weekend. Police from the Upsala and Thunder Bay detachments of the OPP responded to the crash on Sunday, June 12 just after 6:10 p.
Police have released the names of the three people who died after a head-on crash on an area Highway earlier the past weekend.

Police from the Upsala and Thunder Bay detachments of the OPP responded to the crash on Sunday, June 12 just after 6:10 p.m.

The crash took place on Highway 17, just east of Upsala.

Three victims died as a result of the crash. Those victims have been identified as 20-year-old Rick Ouellet, 18-year-old Tammy Lefebrve, and 11-month-old Bailee Lefebvre.

All three victims were residents of Geraldton, Ont.

The family was travelling in a passenger vehicle and heading east on the highway, meanwhile a transport truck was being driven westbound. The two vehicles collided on the highway, killing the driver and two passengers of the passenger vehicle.

The driver of the transport was not injured as a result of the crash.

Police say they continue to investigate.
