Police investigating early morning armed robbery

THUNDER BAY -- Police are investigating the armed robbery of a south-side convenience store. Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say a man entered the Mac's Mart convenience store at 745 Simpson St. just before 4 a.m.

THUNDER BAY -- Police are investigating the armed robbery of a south-side convenience store.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say a man entered the Mac's Mart convenience store at 745 Simpson St. just before 4 a.m. on Friday armed with a knife.

The suspect's face was covered at the time of the incident. The man fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was last seen heading into the east end on foot.

No injuries were reported as a result of the robbery and the investigation continues.

Police have not provided a description of the suspect, but ask that anyone with information contact either the Thunder Bay Police Service at 684-1200, or Crime Stoppers at 623-8477.
