Police are investigating a possible murder in the Eabametoong First Nation community.
The investigation comes after Nishnawbe-Aski Police were called about man found dead around 8 p.m. Monday. Police identified the victim as 38-year-old James Wasawa of Eabametoong.
Police say a 27-year-old man, identified as William Oshkineegish, also of Eabametoong First Nation, has been taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled for Tuesday in Thunder Bay. No other details surrounding the death have been released.
NAPS officers are being assisted in the investigation by the OPP.
The Eabametoong First Nation is located about 300-kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay.
