Police investigating Norah Street death

City police say a woman's body was located in a lane-way on Wednesday evening.

THUNDER BAY -- City police are investigating a death of a female found in a lane-way on the city's south side on Wednesday evening.

Police, in a release issued at 11 p.m., say they were dispatched to the 200 block of Norah Street North at about 8:40 p.m. after the body of the woman was located.

A scene has been established and the major crimes and forensics identification unit is on scene and involved in the ongoing investigation.

Police have not said whether or not the death is suspicious or if they consider it a homicide.

No other details are being made available at this time, but updates are expected as they become available.
