Police investigating suspected firearm incident in Westfort

THUNDER BAY — Police are investigating a weekend incident where a firearm was believed to be discharged on the city's south side. 

Around 4:15 am on Saturday, Thunder Bay Police Service officers were sent to a location near the 100 block of Frederica Street West where it's believed a firearm was discharged in the area, a police spokesperson confirmed on Monday. 

Police have blocked off the area while the investigation continues. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact police directly or through Crime Stoppers
