THUNDER BAY -- As the Special Investigations Unit continued to look into an incident in which a woman fell from a third-floor window, Thunder Bay Police on Tuesday issued their own brief update on the case.

They said they had charged a 19-year-old man under the Criminal Code with obstructing police.

He has been released from custody pending his next court appearance.

But there was no information on the condition of the 19-year old woman injured in the incident which occurred close to midnight on Sunday night.

On Monday, the SIU said she had been hospitalized with serious injuries after a fall from the third floor of an apartment building in the North Algoma/River Street area.

On Tuesday, the SIU stated that the incident actually occurred at an address on Dawson Street, one block south of that intersection.

Neither the police nor the SIU disclosed anything further about the case.
