THUNDER BAY -- Two separate reports of a suspicious male in the High Street area earlier this week has led police to warn parents to be on the lookout.
A media release issued by city police said on Tuesday a man driving a silver four-door car with rounded features approached children walking home from school.
Two girls, aged 10 and eight, were walking on Dawson Street towards High Street when a car entered the driveway in front of them and stopped so the girls had to walk around it.
The man then opened his window to speak to the girls and held a cell phone out the window, gesturing towards them.
The girls quickly walked away and were not followed.
Shortly afterwards a 10-year-old boy was walking home at the intersection of High and Dawson Streets and walked past a parked car with a man inside.
The man pulled out what the boy believes to be a camera. The boy then ran across the street and was not followed.
The man is described as having darker skin with very short salt and pepper hair.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
