Witnesses are being sought in a hit-and-run Saturday night involving a pedestrian.

Police, in a release issued on Monday, say the incident occurred just before midnight at the intersection of Waterloo Street and Brunswick Avenue.

A 42-year-old woman was found on the ground on the right shoulder of Brunswick Avenue.. She was conscious and said she was struck by what appeared to be a vehicle resembling a PT Cruiser. She didn’t speak to the driver, as the vehicle immediately left the scene of the incident.

The woman was then taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the collision took place near a busy coffee-shop drive through and are asking anyone who might have seen something to contact the traffic unit at 684-1226.
