Police looking for witnesses of weekend assault

THUNDER BAY - Police are looking for witnesses to a weekend assault that took place in the early morning hours on the city’s north side.

According to a Thunder Bay Police Service media release, an assault took place in the area of Highway 11/17 and Red River Road at approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15.

A male victim was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with what police describe as non life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the assault or has information regarding the incident to contact Thunder Bay Police at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online atwww.p3tips.com.

Police is also reminding members of the public to walk in well-lit areas when possible.
