Police are investigation the death of a 46-year-old Pikangikum woman who was found unconscious on a city street.
OPP officers with the Red Lake detachment say 46-year-old Bertha Quill, who was living in Red Lake at the time, was found near Howey Street on Tuesday morning. Police say she was unconscious and unresponsive.
Paramedics rushed her to a nearby hospital and then later flew her to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. She succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.
A post mortem was conducted on Friday in Kenora but police say the examination is not complete.
The investigation is ongoing.
