Police looking to identify knife and syringe wielding robbery suspect

Woman fled May Street convenience store with undisclosed amount of cash on Tuesday.

THUNDER BAY -- Police are trying to identify a suspect who allegedly robbed a convenience store while brandishing a knife and a syringe.

Thunder Bay police on Friday released surveillance footage of the suspect of a Tuesday night robbery at the Circle K convenience store on May Street.

Police said the woman entered the store with a knife and syringe and demanded money from the clerk before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash before being last seen heading southbound on May Street.

The suspect was described by police as a Caucasian woman in her late 20s, who is short with a chubby build and dirty blonde hair. She was wearing heavy makeup, a light-coloured jacket over top of a dark sweater and dark-coloured pants at the time of the incident.
