Police looking to identify two robbery suspects (2 photos)

A cab driver was allegedly robbed by two males on the city’s north side on Dec. 19.

THUNDER BAY - Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects involved in the robbery of a cab driver.

According to a media release issued by the Thunder Bay Police Service, officers were called to Walkover Street and Clarkson Avenue on the night of Dec. 19 just after 2 a.m. after receiving reports of a cab driver being robbed.

Police said the cab driver picked up one male outside the Foundry on Red River Road and a then picked up a second male on the corner of Court Street and Red River Road.

One of the males requested the driver stop at residence on the zero-to-100 block of Walkover Street. When the cab arrived, it is alleged that the two men robbed the driver and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The two males were last seen running southward through the McDonald’s Drive Through on Red River Road.

The two suspects are described as Caucasian in their early 20s with thin builds. One of the suspects was wearing a black toque, black jacket with a fur hood, grey shirt, light-colored skinny or tight pants, and beige Timberland style boots. 

The second male was wearing a black jacket with a hood, black shoes, grey pants, and has dark hair.

Police have made available images from video surveillance in the hopes that someone might be able to identify the suspects.
