THUNDER BAY – A home takeover has led city police to make a drug-trafficking arrest.

Police say they responded to a call on Thursday at a residence in the 1100 block of Donald Street East, where upon arrival they observed evidence of illicit drugs.

The investigation later revealed the residence appeared to have been taken over for the purpose of trafficking.

Seized substances are believed to be cocaine and fentanyl, along with a quantity of cash.

A Toronto male, Kyle Young, 22, was arrested.

The accused faces two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Young has been released from custody, with conditions, and a future court appearance date.
