Police make arrests following prostitution crackdown

A weekend sweep by local police has resulted in several prostitution arrests. The Thunder Bay Police Focused Enforcement Team, Intelligence Unit and Community Response team, along with the OPP, conducted the joint action Friday and Saturday nights.

The Thunder Bay Police Focused Enforcement Team, Intelligence Unit and Community Response team, along with the OPP, conducted the joint action Friday and Saturday nights.

The police efforts resulted in 10 women being arrested and charged with communicating for the purpose of prostitution.

Five of the arrests were made in the Court Street area, the other five in the Simpson and McKenzie street area.

Those arrested ranged in age from 15 to 31 years old.
