THUNDER BAY – Police have named the 25-year-old suspect in a string of recent robberies of local convenience stores.
Jordan Jeffrey Connell of Thunder Bay faces numerous charges in connection with six recent robberies after his arrest on Friday.
That includes six charges of robbery, six charges of disguise with intent, seven charges of breach of probation, and possession of stolen property over $5,000, said the Thunder Bay Police Service.
Connell appeared in bail court on Saturday and was remanded into custody. He appeared in court again Monday afternoon and was remanded into custody on consent for his next court appearance on July 19.
The first reported robbery took place on the evening of June 23 at the Circle K convenience store on Arthur Street. Connell demanded money from the clerk before fleeing the area on foot.
Police distributed surveillance footage of the incident last week, asking for assistance in identifying the man.
Police say that investigation connected Connell to five other robberies that took place between June 23 and July 4, and revealed he was in possession of a stolen vehicle.TBPS officers with the Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) unit located and arrested Connell just before 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
