There's been another bizarre incident involving a black bear with its head stuck in a plastic jar.

OPP in Sioux Lookout were called Friday morning after a report of a mother bear and two cubs in a residential area. One of the bears was reported to have a plastic container on its head.

An officer at the scene approached the cub and wrestled the mayonnaise jar from its head while the other officer kept a watch for the mother bear in the nearby woods.

Neither officers were injured during the incident and the bear appeared to be fine when it ran off into the woods.

Last July, a smiliar incident happened near Hurkett and made international headlines. A bear had been wandering around the landfill site with its head stuck in a large plastic jar.

The same bear was spotted weeks later looking a lot thinner and still caught in the same predicament.

The infamous jar latter washed up on the shores of Lambert Island with a tuft of black fur found inside.

MNR officials say what happened to that animal may never be known.
