THUNDER BAY -- A routine traffic stop turned into a police pursuit early Saturday morning.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say an officer attempted to make the traffic stop on Saturday, Feb. 16, just before 4 a.m.

Police attempted to stop the truck with two passengers in the Secord and Pearl Streets area.

The officer checked the licence plate and discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen from the Parry Sound area.

The officer continued to follow the vehicle and lost sight of it when it turned southbound from Banning Street onto John Street at a high rate of speed.

The officer located the vehicle a short time later parked on the side of the road with a 46-year-old woman passenger still in the vehicle.

Police say an officer located the suspected driver on foot within minutes in the Banning and Dufferin Streets area.

The suspect was arrested and has been remanded to the district jail.

Police say Bradley David Bouley, 30, of Iroquois Falls, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000
  • Dangerous Driving
  • Flee from Police
  • Breach of Probation

He has also been charged for driving while disqualified under the Highway Traffic Act.
