Police release scene of weapons incident, man remains in hospital

Police have released the scene of a reported weapons incident that left one man with unknown injuries.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service were dispatched to what was initially reported as an incident involving a weapon on Wednesday.

THUNDER BAY – Police have released the scene of a reported weapons incident in the city’s north end that sent one man to hospital on Wednesday.

The man remained in hospital Thursday morning, but the Thunder Bay Police Service said the extent of his injuries was still unknown in a statement.

Officers with the TBPS were dispatched to what was reported as an incident involving a weapon in the area of Court and McVicar streets just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers located an injured male on the scene, who was transported to hospital by Superior North EMS paramedics.

An investigation by the force’s Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Unit continues.
