Police report spike in crashes with wildlife

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – During the overnight hours of June 13, 2015 members of the Rainy River District Detachment off the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a several motor vehicle collision in the Rainy River District involving wildlife.

Officers patrolling highways in the Rainy River District have observed a significant increase in the amount of wildlife on or near the roadways.

OPP are reminding motorists to be alert and to watch for wildlife at all times.
