Police respond to two separate crashes involving cyclists

Neither incident resulted in serious injuries, but police still urge roadways users to be cautious

THUNDER BAY — City police responded to two separate collisions involving cyclists in a span of three hours on Monday.

Thunder Bay police issued a news release Tuesday, providing details about the two incidents and a safety reminder for all roadway users to understand risks and act with extra care and caution.

Neither incident resulted in serious injuries, police said.

The first collision happened at the corner of Arthur and Selkirk streets just after 3 p.m. and involved a teen cyclist. Police said the collision was low impact, and the teen appeared to only have minor injuries and did not require further medical attention.

The second collision took place at the corner of Harbour Expressway and Memorial Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. Police said the cyclist did not appear to be injured and did not require medical attention.
