KAKABEKA FALLS -- Thunder Bay Police say they are on the hunt for a man believed to be armed and in need of assistance in Kakabeka Falls.

In a release issued late Tuesday night, police say the man is described as a Caucasian with a fair complexion and bald. He's about 5-foot-10 and weighs about 180 pounds and was last seen wearing jeans. It's also believed he was carrying a backpack.

Police say they are looking for the man in the area of Harstone Drive, between Stanley and Smith Road.

Residents are being advised to lock their doors and report the male if they happen to see him. Both Thunder Bay Police and the Ontario Provincial Police are looking to speak to the man, who is thought to be driving a Suzuki motorcycle with a red gas tank, black in colour and carrying the Ontario licence plate 8275T.

If anyone sees the male or motorcycle in the area, contact police immediately.
