THUNDER BAY — Officers in the city's major crime unit are looking for more information in connection to an incident at Art Widnall Pool that involved a young male going to the hospital.
In an update released by Thunder Bay Police, they ask for the public's help in identifying an individual who assisted in the incident that occurred at Art Widnall Pool on the evening of Saturday, July 13, around 6:30 p.m.
The statement reads that EMS and police responded to the facility after receiving reports of a male youth in medical distress.
Investigators had spoken to multiple witnesses and people present at the pool when the situation occurred, but are still looking for another individual who was present at the time and helped the youth until emergency response workers arrived.
Police believe this individual may have important information, and their account of events could assist the investigation.
The release made clear the individual they are looking for is not suspected of any wrongdoing.
This individual, their parents/guardians, or anyone who knows the identity of this individual is asked to contact the police.
Additionally, anyone who was present at the time of the incident or has relevant information that has not yet come forward is asked to contact investigators at (807) 684-1200.
