THUNDER BAY - Police are looking to speak to anyone who may be able to provide investigators with useful information in connection to an apparent shooting over the weekend at a local motel.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service were called to the Kingsway Motel at 345 Kingsway at 9:20 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13 after bullet holes were discovered in the window of a motel suite.

Since then investigators have spoken to people believed to be involved in the incident but are hoping other individuals can come forward with more information, Det.-Insp. John Fennell with the Thunder Bay Police Service said Thursday, Sept. 17.

“We are having some frustrations because we know that people are not providing accurate information which is conflicting with some of the information we are seeing,” Fennell said.

Police initially said through a media release no victims were present when police arrived and no evidence suggested the incident resulted in injuries.

"We are pleading with the public that has knowledge...so we can really learn the facts and truth of what occurred that day," Fennell said.

Police believe shots were likely fired in the early morning hours of Sept. 13 but officers were not notified until roughly five hours later by a witness.

Anyone with information that could assist police are asked to call 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.p3tips.com.
