THUNDER BAY — An investigation into the trafficking of drugs in the city has resulted in the seizure of cash and suspected cocaine, and the arrest of one suspect.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service intelligence unit, assisted by the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, executed a warrant on Aug. 21 at a residence in the 300 block of John Street, police said in a media release.

A 55-year-old man was located in the residence and arrested at the scene on charges of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, according to police.

He appeared in court Friday and was remanded into custody with a date for his next appearance in court.

It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
