Police found cocaine and cash after searching a man’s vehicle Sunday.
Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say the force’s guns and gangs unit began an investigation into a man suspected of being involved in criminal activity. That investigation led to a traffic stop on Sunday.
As a result of that stop, police found 576 grams of cocaine and about $13,000 in Canadian cash.
Police say the estimated street value of the drugs seized is nearly $57,000.
A 23-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested following the search. Both were held for court on May 1 and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The female suspect is also charged with breach of probation.
The male suspect remains in custody, while police say they have released the woman they arrested.
