A woman now faces charges of trafficking narcotics after police seized about $12,000 worth of prescription pills at an area airport.

Officials with the Sioux Lookout detachment of the OPP responded to a information about a person who was in possession of drugs at the Sioux Lookout Airport on Thursday, Sept. 22.

An investigation by OPP officers revealed that a 41-year-old woman was in possession of Oxycontin.

Police say they seized about $12,000 worth of Oxycontin pills.

The suspect will appear in a Sioux Lookout courtroom Friday.

Brenda Adams, of Weagamow Lake First Nation, was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
