Police seize pot, cash in drug raid

(IGNACE, ON) – On Tuesday, June 23, 2015 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Ignace Detachment along with members of the Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) Drug Enforcement Unit – Kenora, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and the Dryden Police Service executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant at a Pine Street residence in the Township of Ignace.

Police seized approximately 113 grams of marijuana valued at $2,200 along with $300 cash.

A 41-year-old female and an 18-year-old male from Ignace have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance under 30 grams contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

A 15-year-old male from Ignace has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act along with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The names of the accused are not being released to protect the identity of the youth.

All three accused will appear in court in Ignace on October 28, 2015.
