Police solve robberies with help of local businesses

A vehicle involved in a number of robberies was identified by officers in video provided by a business and the vehicle was seized by police.
A search warrant was executed and resulted in the discovery of drugs and property stolen from Exquisite Gold on Feb. 14.

Blair Pelletier, 31, and Shannon Pinese, 35, were charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and breach of a court order.

After sifting through more video images, police were able to positively identify Pelletier as the male who allegedly robbed Exquisite Gold, the Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn on Feb. 14.

He was charged with robbery with three counts of robbery with an offensive weapon, disguise with intent and breach of recognizance on April 1. He is in custody and will next appear in court on April 17.

The Thunder Bay Police Service’s community response team also used video images to positively identify and arrest Crystal Leduc, 30, for the alleged robbery of Janzen’s Pharmacy on Jan. 15.

She was charged with robbery and disguise with intent and has a court date set for April 10.
