Police to hold memorial march

Thunder Bay Police Service officers will be holding a memorial march and service on Sunday, Sept. 24 to honour those who have given their lives in the line of duty.

THUNDER BAY - The men and women who serve and protect will be marching to honour those who have given their lives in the line of duty. 

Sunday, Sept. 24, is Police and Peace Officers National Memorial Day and men and women, past and present, who serve with the Thunder Bay Police Service, as well as police services from across the region, will be holding a memorial parade and service on the city's south side. 

The day is meant to honour officers who have given their lives in service to the community. 

The March on Sunday will take place at 1:30 p.m. and begin at the Old Provincial Court House on Arthur Street. Officers will march St. Paul's Anglican Church on Ridgeway Street for a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. 

The service is open to the public. There may be brief traffic disruptions in the area during the march.
