THUNDER BAY -- A new bear sighting had police on high alert Saturday.
Police were called to the Cox Crescent area around 2 p.m. Saturday after residents there reported seeing a bear in the area.
Police managed to send it up a tree before calling the MNR. But by the time the M-N-R arrived just after 3pm, the bear had taken off into the woods.
It is a different bear than the injured one spotted near Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre over the past couple of weeks police say.
They are advising all residents in the area to use extra caution and notify them of any further sightings.
