It's not often that the Thunder Bay Port Authority has a new 200-foot tall toy to assemble.
But so far, everything has been smooth sailing at Keefer Terminal and the new mobile harbour crane is slowly taking shape.
Port Authority CEO Tim Heney actually found the crane in California using a Google search. He says they've made good progress putting together the massive, $3 million machine.
Heney said if all goes according to plan, he's confident the crane will be operational in just more than two weeks.
Heney pointed out that they don't have someone to operate the crane.
The short-term solution will be bringing an operator in from out-of-town, and possibly training someone locally.
But for now, Heney said their main focus is on getting the crane assembled and working.
