The port is expecting tonnage levels it hasn't seen in a decade by the end of the year.
Cargo levels at the Thunder Bay port have already passed 8 million tonnes this year, the highest since 2008 and are expected to hit near 9 million by the end of the season in January, not seen in more than a decade.
Grain accounts for more than 7.1 million tonnes of the total, 57 per cent higher than last year.
More than 100 foreign vessels, or a salty, called the port this season, another number not seen in ten years.
