THUNDER BAY -- Synergy North says they've restored power to about 3,000 of the 3,900 affected by a power outage in the southeast section of Thunder Bay. However, about 1,000 customers remain without power.

The utility, in posts to its official Twitter account, does not give a reason for the outage, and said crews are still on patrol trying to restore power to the remaining customers.

The outage area, at its height, stretched between Kingsway Avenue in the west. Christina Street East, just north of Pacific Avenue and west to the Kaministiquia River.
