GREENSTONE, Ont. – Power has been restored to about 3,000 Hydro One customers in the Greenstone area following a major outage.
The power disruption was first reported at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Hydro crews used helicopters to locate the source of the disruption, a process that took as long as 20 hours.
Officials say the power disruption was the result of material failure possibly caused by lightning.
Hydro One crews were able to remove the broken ground wire and eventually fix the problem.
Power was fully restored for all impacted customers Wednesday afternoon.
