A provincial pre-budget committee will be in Thunder Bay on Wednesday.
MPP Bill Mauro (Lib., Thunder Bay – Atikokan) announced Tuesday that the province’s All-Party Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs will visit the city on Wednesday, Jan. 26. The committee will be in Thunder Bay as part of the 2011 pre-budget consultation process.
“We are pleased that the committee is able to be in Thunder Bay (on Wednesday),” Mauro is quoted as saying in a news release issued by his office Tuesday. “It’s a great opportunity for Northwestern Ontario to have a say in the upcoming budget.”
Community organizations, local municipal leaders, and representatives from the health care, business, and forestry sectors are among those scheduled to provide feedback.
The finance committee will meet at the Travelodge Airlane Hotel. Consultations are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and are expected to go beyond 3 p.m. For more information about the 2011 Budget process, visit www.fin.gov.on.ca.
