THUNDER BAY - Thunder Bay is getting ready to host the 76th Grand Finnfest next weekend.
It's the first time we've hosted the festival since 2012, and the preparations are ramping up.
Thunder Bay is well known for being rich in Finnish heritage.
The festival will feature several Finnish dancing troupes, food, films, a wife carrying contest and nordic walks.
This year's festival will be very significant, as a special foreign dignitary will be visiting the city.
Organizing commitee member Ulla Ahokas is amazed as to how far Finnfest has come over the last 76 years.
The three-day event starts on Friday, June 24.
