(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) – Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a mail scam informing individuals that they have won $600,000 from Publishers Clearing House.
The mail is addressed to the individual and includes a cheque from Manulife Financial upwards of $14,000 to $16,000.
The letter explains the cheque is an advance from Publisher’s Clearing House lottery to cover the taxes, and is to be cashed and sent to them to collect the full prize.
The Sioux Lookout OPP is advising the public not to cash these cheques or send money to Publishers Clearing House.
If you have received any cheques in the mail from Publishers Clearing House and a letter advising you have won $600,000, please contact Detective Constable Katie MAGILL at the Sioux Lookout OPP at 807-737-2020.
