THUNDER BAY – Students at a local public school were getting suited up for cycling Tuesday.
About 160 bicycle helmets were handed out to students at Our Lady of Charity School by local representatives of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Brain Injury Association of Thunder Bay.
Representative Duncan Macgillivray says it's important to educate kids on the importance of wearing a helmet.
“This is our fourth year up here in Thunder Bay,” Macgillivray said. “As of today we will have given out 850 helmets total.”
OTLA's Helmets on Kids program will donate over four thousand helmets this year.
