Province and feds support infrastructure upgrades in Red Rock and Terrace Bay

The money is for water, wastewater and storm sewer infrastructure.

TERRACE BAY, Ont. — The federal and Ontario governments will contribute $3.7 million to infrastructure improvements in the townships of Red Rock and Terrace Bay.

The federal commitment is about $2 million, and the province is providing about $1.7 million.

In a joint announcement Monday, the governments said the money will go towards water mains, sanitary sewers and storm sewers in Terrace Bay to reduce the risk of flooding.

Terrace Bay will contribute $613,000.

In Red Rock, the project includes upgrades to the water treatment plan data collection and automatic control systems as well as the rehabilitation of water and wastewater infrastructure on three streets.

The work will improve service reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

Red Rock will contribute $748,000.
